ShootNStock is a stock-labelling service for pharmacies, made up of the ShootNStock mobile app (Android and iOS), the back office at console-in.shootnstock.com, the website shootnstock.com and the service at api-in.shootnstock.com. It is provided by ProEmTech Infosystems Private Limited, Bengaluru, Karnataka, India (“ProEmTech”, “we”, “us”). This policy explains what we collect, why, who we share it with and the choices you have.
ShootNStock is used by pharmacies and their staff to record their own stock. It is not meant for patients or the general public, and it does not collect information about patients or their prescriptions.
1. Information we collect
Account and pharmacy information
- Pharmacy details: name, address, city, state, PIN code, email, phone, GSTIN and drug licence number.
- Owner and staff details: name, mobile number, email address, role and permissions, and a password for the back office (stored only as a secure hash).
Stock information you record
- Photos of medicine packs, strips and boxes taken with the app or a second “camera phone”.
- Product details (name, composition, strength, manufacturer, pack size, schedule) and stock details (batch number, manufacturing and expiry dates, MRP, quantity) and the label codes printed for them.
Device and technical information
- For each signed-in phone: a device name, model, operating system, app version and a device sign-in token.
- Server logs with IP address, date and time and the request made, used for security and troubleshooting.
- Mobile numbers used to request a login code (OTP), with the time and IP address of the request.
Payment information
- Licence payments are processed by Razorpay. We receive the payment status, amount and reference numbers. We do not receive or store your card, UPI or bank details.
We do not collect your location, contacts, call logs, messages, or photos other than the ones you take in the app.
2. Phone permissions the app uses
- Camera: to photograph packs and to scan QR / Data Matrix labels and pairing codes.
- Bluetooth / Nearby devices: to connect to Bluetooth label printers. It is not used to find your location.
- Local network / Wi-Fi: to connect a second phone as a camera and to print to network label printers on your premises.
- Internet: to sign in and upload your entries. The app works offline and uploads when a connection is available.
You can turn these permissions off in your phone’s settings; the related features will then not work.
3. How we use information
- To provide the service: sign-in, recording stock, printing and looking up labels, and the back office.
- To read details from pack photos when you ask the app to (see section 4).
- To manage licences and payments, and to send login codes by SMS.
- To keep the service secure, prevent misuse and fix problems.
- To contact the pharmacy owner about the account, licence or important changes.
We do not sell personal data, show advertising, or use your data to build advertising profiles.
4. Reading details from photos
- On the phone: text on pack photos can be read on the phone itself using Google ML Kit. This happens offline and the photos are not sent to Google.
- With AI (only on plans that include it, and only when a user taps “Fill with AI” in the app or “Read with AI” in the back office): up to four pack photos are sent to Anthropic’s Claude service to read the product, batch, dates and price printed on the pack. Anthropic processes them to return the result and does not use them to train its models under its commercial terms.
5. Who we share information with
We share information only with service providers who help us run ShootNStock, and only what they need:
- Cloud hosting for our servers, database and stored photos.
- Razorpay for licence payments.
- MSG91 to send login codes by SMS.
- Anthropic for AI photo reading, as described in section 4.
Within a pharmacy, the owner and staff with the right permissions can see the pharmacy’s entries, photos and staff list. Photos are private to the pharmacy unless a user marks a photo as publishable, which allows that photo to be shown outside the pharmacy, for example in a product catalogue. Anyone who scans a ShootNStock label is asked to sign in before any stock details are shown.
If the pharmacy connects ShootNStock to its own pharmacy or accounting software, the data it chooses to send is handled under that software’s terms. We may also disclose information when required by law or to protect our rights and users’ safety.
6. How long we keep information
- Account, stock records and photos are kept while the pharmacy’s account is active.
- When an account is closed, or on a deletion request, we delete or anonymise the pharmacy’s data within 30 days, except what we must keep by law (for example payment and tax records).
- Login-code requests are deleted after 90 days. Server logs are kept for up to 30 days and database backups for up to 14 days.
- On the phone, entries and their photos are kept in the app for its entry history until the app is uninstalled; photos of an entry that is discarded before saving are deleted.
7. Security
Data is sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Photos are stored privately and are shown only through short-lived signed links to signed-in users of the pharmacy. Passwords are stored as secure hashes, and each phone signs in with its own token that the owner can revoke from the back office. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we work to protect your information.
8. Your rights and choices
Under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and other applicable laws, you can:
- access and correct your information (most details can be edited in the back office);
- ask us to delete your information or close your account;
- withdraw consent, for example by not using AI photo reading or by signing out a phone;
- raise a grievance with us, and if not resolved, with the Data Protection Board of India.
To delete your account or data, the pharmacy owner can email support@proemtech.com from the account’s registered email with the subject “Delete my ShootNStock account”. Staff can ask the owner to remove them, or contact us directly. We confirm the request and complete it within 30 days.
9. Children
ShootNStock is a business tool for pharmacies. It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect children’s personal data.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. We will post the new version on this page with a new “Last updated” date, and tell pharmacy owners about significant changes.
